    Description

🌟 The Opportunity Are you a student looking for a meaningful way to earn your service hours? Do you have a passion for storytelling, social media, design, or community engagement? The JJ Center is looking for creative students to help us build a "Sanctuary of Support" online.

This is a fully remote, highly flexible opportunity (just 2–5 hours per week) where you can use your talents to help the D.C. community. Whether you love designing graphics, scheduling content behind the scenes, or engaging directly with our online community, we have a place for you. You don't have to do it all—whether you want to focus on design, engagement, or both, we welcome you!

🛠️ Role Summary As a Student Creative Volunteer, you will work with our team to keep our digital platforms vibrant, organized, and welcoming. You will help us design eye-catching visuals, schedule posts to keep our feed active, or interact with our followers to build a strong online community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Graphic Design: Use tools like Canva or Adobe to design digital flyers and graphics for our food distributions and community events.
    • Scheduling & Coordination: Help plan our content calendar and use scheduling tools to ensure our posts go out on time.
    • Community Engagement: Help monitor our social media accounts, reply to comments/messages, and engage with our followers to spread empathy and kindness.
    • Storytelling: Help us "humanize" our mission by writing engaging captions and interactive stories.

    Qualifications

    • Student Status: Currently enrolled in High School or College.
    • Skill Interests: Experience or a strong interest in Canva, Adobe, content scheduling, or social media community management.
    • Reliability & Communication: Ability to check in via Slack and stay on top of your chosen tasks.
    • Mission-Aligned: You believe in helping others and leading with a "People-First" attitude.

    What’s In It For You?

    • Verified Service Hours: We provide official documentation for your school, honor society, or club service hour requirements.
    • Portfolio & Resume Building: Gain real-world experience in digital marketing, social media management, and content scheduling.
    • Mentorship: Experience working directly within a professional non-profit structure.
    • Ultimate Flexibility: Work from home on a schedule that fits your classes, work, and extracurriculars.
