About Green Empowerment For Development (GEFD)

Green Empowerment For Development (GEFD) is a humanitarian organization based in Yemen dedicated to sustainable development, relief, and community empowerment. We believe in the power of technology to amplify social impact. We are currently undergoing a digital transformation, migrating our presence to a professional, high-performance platform to better serve our community and connect with international donors.

    Role Summary

We are seeking a talented and mission-driven Volunteer Web Designer with extensive WordPress experience to lead our website migration project. You will be responsible for moving our content from Google Sites to a new WordPress environment hosted on Microsoft Azure, ensuring a seamless, professional, and donor-friendly user experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Website Migration: Lead the transition of content and assets from Google Sites to a new WordPress installation.
    • Theme Customization: Install and configure professional themes (e.g., Astra, OceanWP) to align with GEFD's branding and humanitarian identity.
    • Conversion Optimization: Design high-converting landing pages focused on Conversion Efficiency for digital fundraising.
    • Donation Integration: Seamlessly integrate third-party donation platforms like Global Giving, Madinah, and Tiltify.
    • Technical SEO: Optimize site structure, metadata, and images for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to maximize our Google Ad Grants reach.
    • Responsive Design: Ensure the website is fully optimized for mobile devices and high-speed performance.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience: Proven track record in designing websites for non-profit organizations or social enterprises.
    • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in WordPress, Elementor, and CSS.
    • Strategic Mindset: Understanding of Conversion Tracking, Outbound Clicks, and donor behavior.
    • Independence: Ability to work remotely and manage a project from the design phase to the "Go-Live" stage.
    • Communication: Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not required.

    What’s In It For You?

    • Humanitarian Impact: Your work will directly support relief efforts and sustainable development in Yemen.
    • Professional Growth: Manage a cloud-hosted (Azure) WordPress project for a growing NGO.
    • Recognition: A formal Volunteer Contract, an official certificate of appreciation, and a professional recommendation/endorsement on LinkedIn from our Founder.
    • Portfolio: Feature a high-impact, international humanitarian project in your professional portfolio.
