About Mentor A Promise & Thread & Promise

Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a New York City–based nonprofit serving children and youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability through mentorship, literacy, social-emotional learning, and creative expression.

Thread & Promise is MAP’s design and innovation division, advancing mission-driven apparel, materials research, and special projects—including firefighter safety initiatives and other purpose-built design work. Projects bring together designers, engineers, researchers, and community partners and require close, hands-on coordination.

    Role Overview

The Project Manager – Thread & Promise supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Thread & Promise design and innovation projects. This role ensures timelines, deliverables, and communication stay aligned while supporting designers through in-person collaboration when needed.
