Description
Become a consistent, caring adult and a powerful voice for a child involved in the foster care system. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are trained community members appointed by a judge to advocate for a child’s best interests.
Volunteers get to know the child, visit regularly, gather information from the important people in the child’s life, communicate with professionals involved in the case, and provide written recommendations to the court. CASA volunteers are supported by South Central CASA staff throughout their service.
No legal or social work experience is required. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, complete pre-service training and required background checks, and commit to serving consistently for the duration of the child’s case. We are seeking dependable, compassionate adults from all backgrounds to serve children in Cleveland, McClain, and Garvin Counties.
