    Description

    Communications Manager

Bernadette’s House is seeking a Volunteer Communications Manager to lead our email and social media marketing efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, content planning, and creating consistent, engaging communications that support mission-driven work.

The Communications Manager plays a key role in keeping our community informed, engaged, and connected to our programs, events, and opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, create, and manage social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
    • Draft and schedule email communications, including newsletters, announcements, and event reminders
    • Collaborate with leadership and program teams to promote events, volunteer opportunities, and initiatives
    • Maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging aligned with Bernadette’s House values
    • Support recruitment campaigns for volunteers, mentors, and leadership roles
    • Track basic engagement metrics and adjust content as needed

    Qualifications

    • Experience with social media management and email marketing (professional or volunteer experience welcomed)
    • Strong written communication skills
    • Experienced with tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite, and email platforms (MailerLite or similar preferred)
    • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
    • Passion for community impact, youth development, or nonprofit work

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and excited about using communications to support meaningful work. This role requires consistency more than volume and is best suited for someone who can commit to steady engagement rather than one-time tasks.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience managing nonprofit communications
    • Opportunity to shape messaging and grow your portfolio
    • Flexible, remote volunteer role with leadership support
    • Meaningful contribution to programs that positively impact girls and families
