    Description

    Adaptive Riding Lessons Volunteer

Northland Therapeutic Riding Center is looking for volunteers to join our adaptive therapeutic riding lessons. Volunteers work alongside participants, horses, and instructors to help individuals reach personal goals, build confidence, develop skills, and celebrate milestones.

No horse experience is required! Whether you've been around horses your whole life or have never seen one in person, NTRC provides the training and support you need to become a confident and successful volunteer.

Lessons are 50 minutes each and take place in the evenings Monday after 5pm, Tuesday after 4pm, Wednesday after 4pm, Thursday after 4pm and Saturday mornings starting at 8am. We do not hold lessons on Fridays or Sundays.

The number of volunteers needed shows the max number needed during ONE lesson as a singular team (team= participant, horse & volunteers) can need between 1-3 volunteers and our arena hosts up to 4 teams in each class.

    Location

    On-site

    Northland Therapeutic Riding Center

13608 Henson Rd, Holt, MO 64048, USA
    Directions

We have a shared drive way continue down the road until you pass through a red gate with a one way sign pointing up and to the left. Follow it around where it turns to gravel again and go down to the right and right again to park anywhere in front of the red building. Our driveway isn't big enough for two vehicles to pass one another without going into the grass so this allows better traffic flow :)

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

No horse experience is needed! We will meet you where you are, provide training and support, and help you find the areas you enjoy most. While adaptive riding lessons may be where you start, volunteers can also explore opportunities in horse care, property management, our ground work program, and more.

Ready to get started? Complete our Wranglr volunteer application or reach out to us at volunteer@northlandtherapeuticriding.org. From there, we'll help you get connected with an upcoming orientation.

All new volunteers complete an orientation before volunteering with NTRC. Volunteers 18 and older will also complete a background check. After orientation, we'll work with you to find a day and time that fits your schedule. We can't wait to meet you! 🐴
