    Description

    Sheltering Hearts is a mission‑driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting families in crisis through compassion, advocacy, and community care. We serve vulnerable individuals across the Ohio River Valley and beyond, providing emergency assistance, resources, and hope.

    To expand our impact, we are seeking a dedicated volunteer to help identify new donor prospects, community partners, and supporters who align with our mission.

    Role Overview

    The Lead Generation & Outreach Assistant will help build and maintain a pipeline of potential donors, foundations, churches, businesses, and community partners. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys research, organization, and meaningful mission-driven work.

    Your efforts will directly strengthen our ability to serve families in need.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research potential donors, foundations, churches, and businesses aligned with our mission
    • Build organized lists of prospects with contact information
    • Identify grant opportunities and philanthropic partners
    • Assist with outreach preparation (emails, introductions, contact notes)
    • Track leads and categorize them (A/B/C tiers) based on potential fit
    • Support the development team with ongoing prospecting needs
    • Maintain accurate, updated records of all leads

    Ideal Candidate

    • Strong research and organizational skills
    • Comfortable using spreadsheets or CRM-style tools
    • Detail-oriented and reliable
    • Passionate about nonprofit work and community impact
    • Able to work independently and meet weekly goals
    • Experience in fundraising, sales, or outreach is helpful but not required
