Enjoy poking into boxes and discovering treasures, and unique histories? If you’d be the kind person who enjoys finding a rare photo of an experimental jet, or an aviation explorer in the Arctic being towed by a dog sled team, then this volunteer position might be for you! The American Aviation Historical Society is looking for historians, collectors and individuals with an interest in helping sort and catalog aviation collections received by the Society. This position requires no specific knowledge of aviation, and involves documenting the contents of incoming collections, as part pf our preservation process. This documentation can be on a notepad or in an excel file. The hours of this activity are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11-3, at the AAHS headquarters, at Flabob airport. Contact the office at 951-777-1332 for interest, or the office manager directly at Charles.shaw@aahs-online.org Help us move this history out of a box and into the public store of knowledge!
We are located in Flabob Airport. Come in through the entrance off of Twining Street. We are the first building you see on the right after passing through the gate, across from the large static DC-3 aircraft display.
