Salmon Days is a festival held in Issaquah, Washington that celebrates the return of the salmon. The main features of the event are a parade, live music, and a market for artisans to sell their wares and food. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the end of the salmon run, where salmon return to their birth river to lay eggs. The first festival was in 1970 and has continued annually since its founding.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Eastside chapter (NAMI Eastside), will be tabling at the festival on October 3rd and 4th to share information about our free mental health programs and resources. (There is one volunteer opportunity one October 2nd!)

NAMI Eastside is a nonprofit that provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all people in East King County, WA, who are impacted by mental illness and mental health conditions can build better lives. Click here to learn more about us: nami-eastside.org/

Volunteers will help set up, break down, or join a NAMI Eastside staff member at our table to engage with attendees and answer questions about NAMI. No need to have prior experience with NAMI Eastside to volunteer!

Additional information: Before your volunteer shift, you will receive logistical information specific to your role (set up, tabling, or break down). If you are helping transport materials to or from the NAMI office, these instructions will also be provided in advance. Tabling volunteers will receive information about an optional Zoom orientation where we will review common tabling volunteer questions and share tips for talking with community members about NAMI and our programs.

Please note that this event takes place outdoors under a tent. While the tent provides shade, tabling volunteers should plan to be outside for the duration of their shift and dress accordingly for the weather.

Thank you so much for supporting NAMI Eastside!
