    Description

    Volunteers are essential in order for us to achieve our mission. As a volunteer recruiter you will play a vital role in connecting passionate individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities within our organisation. You will help to grow and sustain our volunteer team by identifying and engaging with potential volunteers at local networking and volunteer recruitment events and online.

    This a new role and will require you to feedback and help shape the activities and processes for this role to work effectively.

    What you will be doing

    • Work closely with the volunteering team and other volunteer recruiter volunteers to share ideas and best practice
    • Maintain accurate records of advertising and engagement from local community
    • Support at internal volunteer engagement events such as Tea and Talks and Time Together
    • Ensure information about volunteering in your local community is relevant and up-to-date
    • Maintain good knowledge of existing volunteer roles across Bowel Cancer UK and our main projects and events
    • Source and attend local community events as an ambassador for Bowel Cancer UK (as agreed by role manager)
    • Advertise volunteer opportunities through social media, community groups and local networks

    The skills you need

    • Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills
    • Reliable and trustworthy
    • Ability to collaborate with a team but also carry out activities independently
    • Good basic IT experience including confidence in using social media platforms
    • Act as a positive ambassador for Bowel Cancer UK in your local community
    • Able to communicate with people from various backgrounds
    • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection
