Habitat Restoration at Arrowhead Marsh-Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline, Oakland.
Plant and tend to native plants, remove non-native invasive plants, and pick up trash along the shoreline at our site adjacent to Arrowhead Marsh in San Leandro Bay at MLK Shoreline Park. Arrowhead Marsh is a one-of-a-kind area, where waterbirds and shorebirds feed, and Brown Pelicans dive, and you may hear or see the the Ridgway's Rail, a listed endangered species, in the marsh.
Upcoming Volunteer Activities:
Our workdays are held on the third Saturday of every month, 9:30am-12 noon, with a few exceptions. Please pre-register by signing in to our online form on our website Volunteer page. Bring your own gloves and re-usable bag for trash pick up if you like, or we can provide. You will receive emailed confirmation and directions upon registering.
