    Football Coaching in Ghana

    Whether you just love football or you’re a spectator, we have a project for you in Ghana! No experience required, just a desire to use Sports to help others. Football coaching volunteers train, play and get immersed into the life of the community. This volunteer project in Ghana is perfect for gap year, summer holidays, student travel and career breaks.

    Many children in Ghana don’t have the opportunity to receive proper coaching. Sports has the power to bring people together. It speaks a universal language and cuts through culture, race and religion.

    This is a fun project for anyone who loves working with children and youth. The youth are very enthusiastic and always keen to learn, play, and interact with volunteers.

    Volunteers will work together with the coaches of the football team. The football team ranges from Under 12 through to the senior team. Volunteers are advised to bring their football own cleats and jerseys.

    Volunteers are advised to do this project in conjunction with teaching in a schools since the football training starts at 3pm from Monday through to Friday. They can also just do the football project without teaching in the school.

    Breakfast served from 5am onwards. Volunteers and Interns start the day usually with breakfast . After breakfast, volunteers walk to their schools which is normally a around the volunteer house

    Work: Tactical briefings with football coaches, taking teams through football drills, coaching, analysis, fitness and conditioning, mental toughness, team building and chemistry, motivation and game preparation.

    Lunch: Volunteers take a lunch break with other volunteers and local staff at 12 pm (when they volunteer in the school together with the football project).

    Closure: Volunteers usually finish their training around 6pm, depending on the days task .

    Dinner: Volunteers have dinner together with other volunteers/interns in the volunteer accommodation. All meals are freshly prepared by on onsite cook.

    Evening : Volunteers are free to plan their evenings. You can stay in or opt for a night out with other volunteers.
