    Description

    Accountant Experienced (Volunteer)

    Be a Founding Builder.

This is a chance to build with us. We are strengthening our internal systems, and our financial foundation needs structure, clarity, and accountability.

Bring your expertise, organization, and independence — let’s build something sustainable together.

    Your Role:

We are looking for a Part‑Time Accountant to take ownership of our financial tracking and accounting processes across our programs and partner initiatives.

Starter Mentality — You don’t wait for direction. You see gaps in systems, create structure, and make things work better.

    The Goal:

We need someone to own, organize, and structure our entire financial system.

This role exists to move us away from manual, scattered financial handling into a clear, well-documented, and compliant accounting system.

You will bring order, visibility, and accountability to how money is tracked, spent, and reported.

    You Will:

    Payroll Management

    • Create and manage payslips
    • Calculate salaries and payments accurately
    • Manage stipends and allowances

    Expense Tracking & Financial Monitoring

    • Track all expenses, including small amounts
    • Monitor and report total spending
    • Track expenses across:
      • Teams
      • Locations
    • Introduce better systems (e.g., imprest or structured expense processes)

    Financial Record Keeping

    • Organize financial data into structured systems (Excel or accounting software)
    • Maintain clear, accurate financial records and documentation
    • Ensure financial data is always up-to-date and accessible

    Tax & Compliance

    • Handle tax-related responsibilities
    • Manage tax clearance and filings
    • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and regulations

    Financial Operations Support

    • Manage funds for operational activities and fieldwork
    • Support budgeting and basic financial planning
    • Help set up or strengthen the accounting function/department

You Are the Right Person If You:

    • Have an accounting or finance background
    • Are experienced (not entry-level guessing)
    • Can work independently and self-organize
    • Have strong Excel skills
    • Have experience using Zoho or similar accounting tools
    • Understand Nigerian tax laws and compliance
    • Preferably have experience working with nonprofits
    • Are preferably based in Abuja (for easier coordination)
    • Are a doer who brings structure where none exists

    Important Note:

This is a Part-Time volunteer role.

    • Time Commitment: ~20 hours/week
    • Flexible, mostly remote
    • Must have a laptop and reliable internet
    • Will support more than one arm of the organization

    How to Apply:

Send an email to info@rotagif.com with:

    • Your name and a short introduction
    • Your CV or LinkedIn profile
    • Any relevant accounting or systems experience

We are excited to meet someone who can bring clarity, structure, and confidence to our finances.
