    About A Free Bird

    A Free Bird is a fully remote 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children affected by cancer by helping them explore their artistic passions. Artistic expression plays a vital role in the healing process, and we support children through art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing, and other creative mediums.

    This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful fundraising initiatives while advancing A Free Bird’s mission and expanding access to creative programs for children nationwide.

    Job Summary

    The Digital Fundraising Manager is responsible for leading and executing A Free Bird’s digital fundraising strategy. Reporting directly to Human Resources and the President, this role oversees fundraising campaigns, manages fundraising volunteers, and drives donor engagement across multiple digital platforms.

    This position is ideal for a strategic, creative, and data-driven fundraising professional who thrives in a remote, mission-driven environment and is passionate about growing sustainable revenue streams.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of digital fundraising initiatives across platforms such as GoFundMe, Amazon Smile, peer-to-peer campaigns, and social media
    • Develop and manage A Free Bird’s overall digital fundraising strategy, including annual goals and campaign calendars
    • Supervise, train, and support fundraising volunteers to ensure consistent execution and messaging
    • Collaborate with staff and volunteers on integrated fundraising efforts, including social media campaigns, email outreach, and virtual events
    • Write and manage grant proposals and support endowment and funding opportunities
    • Research, cultivate, and solicit individual donors, major donors, corporate sponsors, and strategic partners
    • Strengthen donor engagement through digital communications, newsletters, impact updates, and virtual donor experiences
    • Track performance metrics and prepare quarterly reports outlining results, insights, and recommendations
    • Monitor trends in digital fundraising and nonprofit engagement to inform strategy and innovation
    • Lead mandatory weekly meetings with department leadership and team members to align on progress and priorities

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in digital fundraising, development, or donor engagement
    • Bachelor’s degree in Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
    • Proven experience managing fundraising campaigns and digital giving platforms
    • Experience supervising volunteers or team members and delegating tasks effectively
    • Strong grant writing and donor prospecting skills
    • Familiarity with CRMs and fundraising tools (Salesforce NPSP preferred)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret fundraising data and optimize performance
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Additional Information

    • Minimum three-month commitment
    • 5–10 hours per week (based on organizational needs)
    • Fully remote position
    • Must have reliable access to a computer, internet connectivity, and availability for periodic phone/video meetings
