Description
Role Description
The Construction Training Mentor is a volunteer role helping trainees (ages 16–24) as they learn construction in a real-world work site during normal business hours. Training location is in southwest Houston. A volunteer mentor may sign up for any training hours. Each cohort of trainees will receive up to 240 hours of hands-on training coordinated with Workforce Solutions. After training, some of the trainees may be organized as construction subcontractor to take on projects. A qualified mentor may serve as supervisor of the subcontractor cohort.
Qualifications
Construction knowledge and skills related to residential building will be required if later serve as supervisor, helpful but not required as volunteer.
