    Role Overview

    CrowdDoing is seeking a strategic and technically-minded Communications & Media Specialist to amplify the mission of the Community Wildfire Prevention Consortium. This role is pivotal in translating complex environmental science and cutting-edge technology into compelling narratives. You will develop high-impact content across digital and traditional media to promote our global initiatives, including tools developed in collaboration with the United Nations (UNDRR) and ARISE-US.

    Key Responsibilities

    Multi-Channel Content Development

    • Write and distribute professional press releases, news stories, and blog posts that highlight our Community Pilots and Sponsor programs.
    • Capture and craft impactful testimonials from partners and stakeholders to demonstrate program efficacy.
    • Collaborate with the social media marketing team to ensure messaging is consistent, engaging, and data-driven.

    Strategic Global Communication

    • Communicate the value of our Partner Consortium and wildfire prevention tools to an international audience.
    • Translate technical "Disaster Risk Reduction" (DRR) concepts into accessible content for diverse stakeholders, including government bodies and NGOs.
    • Assist in shaping the overarching brand voice and visual identity of the Consortium.

    Technical & Grant Support

    • Maintain an updated understanding of environmental science and wildfire prevention technology to ensure accuracy in all publications.
    • Provide writing and research support for grant applications to secure funding for critical community pilots.

    Qualifications

    • Exceptional Writing: Ability to deliver simple, crisp, and compelling copy for both technical and general audiences.
    • Background: Experience in Journalism, Public Relations, or Technical Writing is highly preferred.
    • Knowledge Base: A strong interest in or understanding of environmental science, disaster risk reduction, or sustainability technology.
    • Global Perspective: Ability to communicate effectively across different cultures and international regulatory environments.
    • Tools: Proficiency in digital publishing platforms and collaborative tools (Google Workspace, Slack, etc.).
