    Description

Endangered Species Fund — Metro Detroit

Are you an imaginative storyteller who would like to use your creativity to help protect endangered wildlife?

The Endangered Species Fund is a small, Clawson-based 501(c)(3) conservation charity supporting wildlife rangers working on the front line. Through our International Ranger Support Program, we help provide rangers with essential personal equipment and welfare support—because protecting wildlife begins with protecting those who protect it.

We are looking for a creative and dependable volunteer to help bring our work to life on social media. This is an opportunity to do more than simply schedule posts. We want someone who can uncover the human stories behind conservation, develop fresh ideas, and help people feel personally connected to the rangers and communities we support.

What you could help us do

    • Create engaging posts, short videos, reels and visual stories
    • Turn photographs, ranger updates and field reports into compelling content
    • Help develop simple social media campaigns and recurring features
    • Encourage conversation and build relationships with our followers
    • Contribute imaginative ideas for expanding our audience
    • Help maintain a consistent, friendly and trustworthy voice across our platforms

    Who we are looking for

You do not need to be a professional conservationist. You may be an experienced social media creator, a communications or marketing professional, a student building a portfolio, or simply someone with a natural gift for storytelling.

    You should be:

    • Creative, curious and full of ideas
    • Comfortable using one or more major social media platforms
    • Able to write in a warm, conversational style
    • Interested in wildlife, conservation or international causes
    • Dependable and able to work independently
    • Within reasonable travelling distance of the Mound Road and 12 Mile Road area

Experience with Canva, photography or short-form video would be helpful, but enthusiasm, imagination and reliability matter most.

    Time and location

Most of the work can be completed remotely and arranged around your availability. However, you must be able to attend an informal, face-to-face team meeting approximately once a month in the Mound Road and 12 Mile Road area.

This is an unpaid volunteer position with a small, friendly organisation where your ideas will be heard and your contribution can have a visible impact.

    How to apply

Please send us a short introduction explaining why the opportunity interests you. If available, include links or examples of social media content, writing, photography or videos you have created. Formal portfolios are welcome but not essential.

Help us tell the stories of the people standing between wildlife and extinction.
