Description
Position Purpose:
Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring and learning support to adults as they work toward their personal, educational, and employment goals.
Primary Duties:
- Provide tutoring and learning assistance based on individual needs
- Assist with reading, writing, basic math, computer skills, or other learning areas
- Help participants practice and build confidence in their skills
- Support adults with completing educational materials and assignments
- Encourage consistent participation and progress
- Maintain a patient, respectful, and supportive learning environment
- Communicate participant needs or concerns to staff as appropriate
- Perform other educational support tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable working with adults of varying skill levels. Strong communication skills and knowledge of the subject being taught are helpful.
