    About Us

4-Humans.org is a San Diego–based nonprofit dedicated to ending human trafficking through prevention, advocacy, rescue, and survivor empowerment. We believe in using the power of storytelling to drive awareness, action, and lasting change.

We are developing the most comprehensive, evidence-based hotel certification in the United States dedicated to combating human trafficking across hotels, motels, and short-term rentals. Our certification provides actionable standards, training modules, and verification processes to ensure that hospitality providers are genuinely protecting guests, staff, and vulnerable individuals.

We are now preparing to launch our pilot certification program before expanding nationwide — and we’re looking for a passionate Marketing Specialist to help us build awareness and drive engagement during this critical phase.

    The Role

As a Volunteer Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in helping us bring this pioneering initiative to life. You’ll work closely with the founding team to develop and execute a marketing strategy aimed at:

    • Reaching hotel and hospitality partners for the pilot program
    • Communicating the value and credibility of the certification
    • Building brand awareness and trust with key audiences

This is an opportunity to use your marketing expertise to make a real social impact while contributing to an initiative that will transform industry standards for safety and accountability.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies for pilot launch
    • Work with our team on social media content (social media, email, press releases, or outreach decks) that communicates our mission and values
    • Help identify and engage pilot hotel/motel partners and industry associations
    • Support brand positioning, messaging, and campaign planning
    • Assist in developing a digital presence and lead generation strategy
    • Track engagement metrics and suggest improvements for the nationwide rollout

    Ideal Candidate

    • Experience or studies in marketing, communications, PR, or related field
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills, especially for social impact or B2B audiences
    • Creative, self-driven, and organized with the ability to work independently
    • Passionate about social justice, human rights, or hospitality ethics
    • Bonus: Experience in hospitality, sustainability, or certification programs

    What You’ll Gain

    • The chance to shape the launch of a first-of-its-kind anti-trafficking initiative in the hospitality sector
    • Real-world experience in strategic marketing and social impact campaigns
    • Mentorship from the founding team and exposure to national industry networks
    • A meaningful way to apply your marketing skills for tangible impact
