Dear Principal, Counselor, English Department Chair, Special Education Coordinator, or Student Support Staff:

Independent Living Housing, Inc. (ILH) is seeking student referrals for its upcoming English Enrichment & Storytelling Project, a free six-week educational program to be held at the Parkman Branch Library, 1766 Oakman Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan, during the Spring Semester.

This program is designed for middle and high school students who would benefit from additional support and encouragement in reading, writing, communication, critical thinking, and personal development.

We are particularly interested in reaching students who:

• Have learning disabilities.
• Are performing below grade level in reading or language arts.
• Need additional academic support.
• Struggle with self-confidence in reading, writing, or speaking.
• Would benefit from positive mentoring and enrichment opportunities.
• Demonstrate potential for leadership growth and personal development.

Participating students will have opportunities to:

• Improve reading comprehension skills.
• Explore literature and storytelling.
• Develop creative and practical writing skills.
• Strengthening public speaking and communication abilities.
• Build self-esteem and confidence.
• Learn leadership, character-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Engage in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

The program will be provided at no cost to students or families.

We respectfully request your assistance in identifying and referring students who may benefit from this opportunity. Your support in sharing program information with students, parents, and families would be greatly appreciated.
