Description
As a foster parent, you play a critical role in saving the lives of senior German Shepherds. When foster homes are unavailable, these senior dogs remain in shelters, facing an uncertain future, often leading to euthanasia. By opening your heart and home, you provide these dogs with a safe, loving environment and a second chance at life.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a Loving and Safe Home:
- Create a secure and welcoming environment for the foster dog.
- Offer patience and understanding as the dog decompresses from "shelter shock."
- Ensure the dog has access to fresh water, regular meals, and daily walks.
- Provide love and attention to help the dog regain confidence and trust.
- Observe and understand the dog’s personality and behavior as it emerges.
- Notify the rescue organization of updates to the dog’s bio to attract potential adopters.
- Work closely with the rescue organization for guidance and support.
- Communicate any concerns or questions promptly.
- Commit to fostering the dog until it is adopted into a forever home.
- A soft bed for the dog to rest and feel at home.
- Assistance with food and supplies if needed.
- Ongoing support and resources to ensure a successful fostering experience.
- A small space in your heart and home.
- Walks, love, and a sense of security for the foster dog.
- By fostering, you offer a senior German Shepherd a second chance at life and love. These dogs have often been abandoned and are unaware of their impending fate in the shelter. Your home becomes a haven where they can heal, thrive, and prepare for adoption.
- There is no greater love than the love of a saved senior dog. They will fill your home with gratitude and joy as they rediscover what it means to be loved.
