    About Mentor A Promise

    Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a New York City–based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth experiencing housing instability through mentorship, education, and community.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Public Affairs & Communications Coordinator to support public messaging, outreach materials, and communications alignment. This role ensures MAP’s public-facing communications are organized, consistent, and aligned with advocacy priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain tracking systems for outreach, partnerships, and engagement efforts
    • Assist in preparing outreach materials and communications
    • Collaborate with communications and advocacy teams to align messaging
    • Support documentation and organization of public engagement initiatives
    • Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via email and chat in Google Workspace

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Strong writing and organizational skills
    • Interest in communications, advocacy, or public affairs
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

    Preferred

    • Experience in communications, journalism, or public affairs
    • Experience supporting campaigns or external communications

    Commitment

    Volunteer role • 5–10 hours per week • 6-month commitment preferred • Hybrid/Remote
