    Summer Camp Counselor for Teens w/ Brain Injuries (Housing + Meals Included)

    Spend a week changing a child’s life while gaining hands-on experience in healthcare, education, and leadership.

    About Camp Cranium

    Camp Cranium is a nonprofit, week-long overnight camp serving children ages 13–18 who have been diagnosed with brain injuries. Held at a fully accessible campground in Millville, PA, our camp provides a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where campers can build confidence, independence, and lifelong friendships.

    Our program operates with a 1:1 camper-to-counselor ratio (2:1 when additional support is needed), ensuring each camper receives individualized care and encouragement throughout the week.

    Position Overview

    Camp Cranium is seeking compassionate, responsible, and energetic volunteers to serve as Camp Counselors. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in a campers life while gaining hands-on experience in leadership, mentorship, healthcare support, education, and nonprofit service.

    Counselors stay overnight for the duration of the camp week and play a direct role in supporting their assigned camper in daily activities, recreational events, and personal growth experiences.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide one-on-one support to an assigned camper
    • Assist with daily routines including activities, meals, and cabin supervision
    • Encourage participation in recreational and team-building activities
    • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive camp environment
    • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and camp leadership
    • Support campers physically and emotionally throughout the week

    Qualifications

    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
    • Interest in healthcare, education, psychology, social work, or nonprofit service (preferred but not required)
    • Willingness to complete required training prior to camp
