Optage Hospice Legacy Project Volunteer
Details
Description
Do you enjoy listening to stories, building meaningful connections, and helping others preserve their memories?
Optage Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to serve as Legacy Project Volunteers. In this role, you will not only help patients create meaningful keepsakes and share their life stories, but you will also serve as a companion volunteer, offering presence, conversation, and connection along the way.
As a Legacy Project Volunteer, you may:
- Spend time getting to know patients and hearing their stories
- Provide companionship through regular visits and meaningful conversation
- Help create memory books, life story journals, or keepsake projects
- Assist with writing letters, recording messages, or documenting memories
- Support patients in sharing their wisdom, experiences, and personal reflections with loved ones
No special experience is required—just a caring heart, a listening ear, and a desire to honor each person's unique life journey.
Legacy Projects can bring joy, purpose, and connection to patients while creating treasured gifts for families. Volunteers often find these relationships deeply rewarding as they witness the power of storytelling and companionship at the end of life.
If you are interested in becoming a Legacy Project Volunteer, please contact the Optage Hospice Volunteer Team to learn more.
Every life has a story worth telling. Through companionship and connection, you can help ensure those stories live on. ❤️
