    Communications Director

    Project 2029 is looking for passionate volunteers to lead our messaging strategy and ensure our voice is clear, compelling, and aligned across all platforms.

    Join us in our mission to create a more perfect union and a democracy that truly puts the people first.

    About the Role

    As Communications Director, you will:

    • Develop and oversee Project 2029’s internal and external communications strategy.
    • Craft messaging for campaigns, announcements, press materials, newsletters, and stakeholder communications.
    • Manage communication channels to ensure consistent branding, tone, and messaging.

    Project 2029 is a grassroots organization run entirely by volunteers like you. Our mission is to create a more perfect union, where Freedom, Opportunity, and Security are available to all, where all people are treated equally, where the three branches of government are co-equal, where corruption is exposed, and where laws are established for the good of everyone.

    We are developing actionable policies to create a flourishing, transparent, and accountable government that works for all people. We are identifying and empowering new state and federal leaders to step into public service roles with the integrity and vision to implement fair and effective policies. We are rewriting the rules of governance to ignite a movement for democracy anchored in justice and committed to future generations.

    Who We’re Looking For

    who believe in transparency, accountability, and building a stronger democracy through effective communication.

    We are looking for candidates who are excited about progressive politics and are dedicated to the idea that we can change what is happening in our country.

    Ideal candidates will be strong writers, strategic thinkers, and collaborative leaders and have knowledge of media relations, messaging strategy, crisis communications, and digital communication tools.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, media, advocacy, or related roles
    • Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, media databases, email platforms, and social media tools preferred
    • 10–15 hours per week
    • Remote
