Grant Writer

Position Requirements - The primary responsibilities include the preparation and follow through of

private and public proposals and grant applications in various areas that directly pertain to BHRSC.

• Previous grant writing experience especially in non-profit fundraising
• Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive

proposals

• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage

grant proposals from private and public donors including attention to detail. This includes all

compliance as required

• Ability to work and communicate in a timely manner with Grant Researcher and Board of

Directors as necessary to gather and provide any documentation as needed

• Researching for prospective donors, as needed
• Motivated to work autonomously
• Ability to meet deadlines and income goals with a sense of sensitivity and urgency
• Understanding of BHRSC’s history and mission statement
• Compassionate about Basset Hounds and their welfare along with their community
• Check and respond to emails on a daily basis
