The Rohingya have been denied formal education due to the genocidal Myanmar government, and many families are preliterate. This creates significant challenges for young students who are unable to receive academic help from their parents and other family members.
Many K-12 students come to RCC after school to get help in their classes. That means we need dedicated and hardworking volunteers to support them!
Academic Support serves as a safe space for students to complete homework, study, and read. (Sept-June only).
During the summer, we also have academic support offered during our new youth summer program. This runs from June-August, 3pm-5pm Monday-Friday. During this program, children are doing SEL activities, reading, and math.
