Board Member — Fundraising & Community Engagement

Casa Milagro | Santa Fe, NM | Volunteer Board Position

Casa Milagro is looking for an energetic, community-minded Board member who can help us expand our fundraising, donor relationships, partnerships, and visibility in Santa Fe.

Casa Milagro provides supportive, long-term housing and community for individuals who need a stable place to live. We do meaningful work, but too many people in our community simply do not know we are here.

We want to change that.

What you would help with

Working with other Board members and staff, this director would help:

• Expand Casa Milagro's individual donor base
• Build relationships with potential donors and community partners
• Develop small donor events and cultivation opportunities
• Connect Casa Milagro with businesses, faith communities, civic organizations, foundations, and other local networks
• Help strengthen annual appeals and donor communications
• Identify corporate giving and sponsorship opportunities
• Increase community awareness of Casa Milagro's mission
• Help improve outreach, communications, social media, and storytelling strategies
• Participate in overall Board governance and organizational oversight

You do not need to personally bring a large donor list or commit to raising a specific dollar amount.

We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships and is willing to actively participate in expanding Casa Milagro's network.

Possible backgrounds

We would especially like to hear from people with experience in:

• Fundraising or nonprofit development
• Philanthropy or foundations
• Marketing or communications
• Community relations
• Business development
• Banking/community affairs
• Events
• Public relations
• Corporate social responsibility
• Civic or faith-community leadership

For this particular role, Santa Fe or northern New Mexico connections are especially valuable, because relationship-building in the local community will be an important part of the work.

Commitment

• One regular Board meeting each month
• Advance review of meeting materials
• Approximately 2–4 additional hours per month for outreach, fundraising, planning, and Board activities

Board service is voluntary and unpaid.
