    Organization Overview

    The Medica Zone is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering future healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds. Through mentorship, educational programming, wellness initiatives, internships, and academic resources, we work to make healthcare education and professional development more accessible for students across the world. Since our founding in 2020, we have built a growing community of students, mentors, and healthcare professionals committed to equity, access, and opportunity within healthcare education.

    Position Overview

    The Medica Zone is seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals with experience or strong interest in grant writing, nonprofit development, and fundraising strategy to join our team. This role will support the organization’s ongoing efforts to secure funding opportunities that sustain and expand our programs and initiatives.

    We are especially looking for candidates who have familiarity with researching grant opportunities, nonprofit funding sources, and proposal development. Individuals with previous grant writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, or research experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities

    • Research and identify potential grant and funding opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission
    • Assist with drafting and editing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials
    • Help organize grant timelines, requirements, and submission tracking
    • Collaborate with leadership to gather program information, impact metrics, and organizational data for applications
    • Support development of sponsorship and donor-related materials when needed
    • Maintain organized records of grant opportunities, deadlines, and submissions

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or research
    • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Interest in healthcare access, education, public health, or nonprofit work
    • Familiarity with nonprofit funding databases or grant research tools is a plus

    Commitment

    • Approximately 5 hours per week
    • Remote position
    • Flexible scheduling
    • Summer Cohort begins June 5th
