    Description

Are you looking to do meaningful work in your community? Do you have at least 1-2 hours per month to give back? Do you have a talent for working with people? Hospice Patients and their families are in need, and can use your help.

We are looking for Friends of Hospice. In this volunteer position, you will meet with a patient and their family and work toward making a meaningful friendship. Being a Hospice Patient Volunteer looks different for each person. Some examples of what you may be doing:

    • Companionship
    • Helping the patient write their life story
    • Walking or playing with the family pet
    • Baking, making art, playing music, or singing
    • Calling the patient or caregivers to have a friendly conversation
    • Running errands for the patient and family
    • 11th hour volunteer

Being a hospice volunteer is giving the beautiful gift of meaningful connection and friendship in a time of need.

Reach out today if you are interested in becoming a Friend of Hospice:

    Location

    On-site
    National City, CA, USA
    Directions

Main office location is Escondido (1510 S Escondido Blvd #104, Escondido, CA 92025), though we have patients all over San Diego county. This listing is to serve our National City patients.

Volunteers would be making visits to patients in a board and care facility, nursing home, assisted living facility, memory care facility, or in the patient's home -- depending on where the patient resides. Volunteers may choose which setting(s) they feel most comfortable in, and may be matched with a patient accordingly.
