    Volunteer Opportunity: Friendly Visitor & Life Stories Companion

    Location: Lake Oswego, OR 97035

    Setting: Adult Care Home

    Are you interested in building a meaningful connection with an older adult while helping reduce social isolation? We are seeking a compassionate volunteer to provide companionship and social engagement through regular visits.

    Volunteer Activities May Include:

    • Friendly conversation and companionship
    • Discussing current events and life experiences
    • Playing cards or other simple games
    • Reminiscing about personal stories and accomplishments
    • Providing social stimulation and emotional support

    Volunteer Qualifications:

    • Patient, compassionate, and dependable
    • Comfortable interacting with older adults experiencing memory loss
    • Enjoys conversation and active listening
    • No gender preference

    About the Participant: This participant has led a fascinating and adventurous life. Her interests and experiences include nursing, volunteering in disaster recovery efforts, sewing, birdwatching, sailing, hosting international exchange students, and playing card games. She enjoys engaging conversations and benefits from one-on-one companionship and social interaction.

    Commitment: Flexible scheduling based on volunteer availability.
