    Description

Love Animals? Provide "Pet Peace of Mind" for Patients

The Pet Peace of Mind program provides our patients with the assurance that we understand the role of their pet(s) in contributing to their emotional and spiritual well being.

Pets provide a significant source of unconditional love and acceptance for owners and provide a sense of normalcy during life transitions. As such, our mission is straightforward: to help our patients and their pets stay together when they need each other most.

Program volunteers can help in many ways while a patient is under our care, assisting with their pet care needs.  Some of the more common activities are dog walking, play time/exercise, feeding, pet waste removal and transporting the pet to veterinarian appointments or to visit their loved one in a long term care facility. If appropriate, our volunteers also provide temporary foster homes or help find new families to love the patient's pet just as much as they do.

Knowing their beloved pet will continue to receive the love and care they deserve provides true peace of mind for our patients.
