    Description

    About Mamas in Music

MiM is a global community and network for mothers and caregivers working in the music industry. Artists, managers, executives, producers, and entrepreneurs building careers while raising families. We run events, spotlights, editorial programming, and chapter communities. Our board is made up of music industry professionals who are deeply invested in what this organization becomes.

MiM is an entirely volunteer-run organization. Every person on our team, including our leadership, gives their time because they believe in the mission. This Fellowship is a volunteer leadership role. We provide a small monthly stipend ($300) to honor the commitment we are asking for, with structured increases as MiM grows.

This is a 12-month leadership development role with an explicit path toward a fully compensated Executive Director position. You learn the organization, own the operations, and grow into the ED mandate as MiM grows. A formal advancement review happens at six months.

Beyond the stipend, you gain real access. You will work directly alongside experienced music industry leaders and receive mentorship from our board. You will have access to leadership programming through BAK and MiM, designed for women building careers at the intersection of music, community, and impact.

We need someone who is all in. This is not a side project. We are looking for a 12-month commitment from someone who treats this like the leadership opportunity it is. If life changes, we ask that you provide ample notice and take accountability for a quality transition. This is a leadership role, and how you exit matters as much as how you show up.

    What You Will Own

    • Operations and administration — inbox, calendar, Notion, board prep, member count reporting, keeping everything current and nothing falling through the cracks.
    • Team and intern coordination — knowing who owns what, running weekly check-ins, holding the team accountable, onboarding and offboarding interns and volunteers.
    • Member experience — making sure new members get into WhatsApp and Circle, feel welcomed, and find their way to MiM's programs and resources.
    • Chapter leader support — monthly check-ins with chapter leaders across the US and UK, ensuring events happen, troubleshooting, keeping local communities active.
    • Cross-team alignment — the connective tissue between marketing, operations, interns, and board. Nothing gets lost. Everything moves.

    Who You Are

You do not need lots of direction to jump in. You see what needs to happen and you make it happen. You are accountable to yourself, to your team, and to the mission. Notion fluency (or fast learner), inbox and calendar management, and comfort with remote team coordination are all important. What matters most is character: self-starting, mission-driven, and not afraid to lead.
