Volunteer grant researcher

Looking to give back in a meaningful way? YesLiberia is seeking a diligent and proactive Grant Researcher to join our team. You'll play a vital role in identifying U.S.-based and international funding opportunities that align with our mission in education, youth empowerment, transportation, gender equity, and community development. Your work will directly support our fundraising strategy by providing the insight and structure needed to pursue relevant grants. This is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented, curious, and passionate about social impact.

Responsibilities:

• Research and track relevant grant opportunities using databases like Grants.gov, Foundation Directory Online, and USAID portals.
• Analyze funder eligibility criteria, deadlines, giving priorities, and geographic scope to assess alignment with YESLiberia’s programs.
• Maintain and update a detailed grant tracker, calendar of recurring opportunities, and institutional funder library.
• Identify giving trends and funders focused on Sub-Saharan Africa, youth education, gender equity, or nonprofit transportation models.
• Collaborate with the grant writing team by summarizing findings and providing background research for concept papers, LOIs, and proposals.

Requirements:

• Prior experience or coursework in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or grant research is a plus.
• Familiarity with tools like Candid/Foundation Directory Online, Instrumentl, or GrantStation.
• Excellent research, synthesis, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
• Passion for YESLiberia’s mission and advancing equitable access to education and opportunity
