Description

Light The Night is an inspirational evening walk where we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancer. Companies, community partners, friends, families, and sponsors join together to instill hope and bring light to the darkness of cancer.

Held at the Rhode Island State House, Providence Light The Night utilizes volunteers throughout the day, making shift times available between 1:00pm and 9:00pm. Volunteer positions include:

set-up and clean-up
handing out t-shirts and lanterns
assisting with sponsorship activations
serving as route marshals for the walk
and much more. There is a position for everyone!

Directions

The event is held on the front lawn of the Rhode Island State House and where most if not all volunteers will be needed with the exception of those assisting on the walk route which surrounds the State House.

When the General Assembly is not in session, visitors may park in the lower legislative parking lot off Smith Street on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessible parking is available in the small lot on the east side of the building

Metered parking can also be found on Smith Street, Francis Street, and Gaspee Street.
