    Description

    Help Believe in Me maintain accurate, privacy-conscious scholarship program reporting that improves service for underserved youth and young people.

    The volunteer Scholarship Data & Reporting Specialist will support approved tracking, quality review, aggregation, dashboards, and reporting without making scholarship decisions or accessing more information than necessary.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain approved definitions, source records, status fields, deadlines, outcomes, and reporting calendars
    • Review authorized data for completeness, consistency, duplicates, anomalies, and missing documentation
    • Create aggregated, de-identified dashboards and summaries for program, board, partner, and funder reporting
    • Document sources, transformations, assumptions, limitations, refresh dates, and review status
    • Reconcile approved application, award, payment, engagement, and follow-up records
    • Protect applicant, family, school, financial, demographic, and award information
    • Use minimum-necessary access and approved systems only
    • Avoid eligibility decisions, ranking, profiling, contacting applicants, or sharing individual data without authority
    • Escalate discrepancies, privacy concerns, bias risks, or reporting conflicts

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in data quality, reporting, scholarships, education, program evaluation, CRM systems, spreadsheets, SQL, or nonprofit operations
    • Strong accuracy, documentation, visualization, privacy, and plain-language communication
    • Familiarity with de-identification, responsible demographic reporting, and restricted access
    • At least 21 years old and willing to complete background and confidentiality requirements
    • Ability to follow scholarship-review separation and data-governance procedures

    This is a remote, recurring or project-based role available within the United States. Expect approximately 3–7 hours per month.
