Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with other volunteers and People Helping People, assist with organizing furniture
within storage units. This role does not require heavy lifting, but may require providing support for
items while others are moving the furniture.
- Assist with organizing household goods within the storage units. This could include grouping,
moving or finding other like houseware items so that the storage unit is organized and easy to
maneuver. Household goods include items such as microwaves, coffee makers, cleaning
supplies, etc.
- Complete minor repairs or refurbishing of furniture at the direction of People Helping People.
- Must be dependable and on-time for scheduled volunteer shifts.
Qualifications:
- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable speaking with people from all backgrounds.
- Passion for serving veterans and their families.
- Must be able to work in a team.
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Experience with basic hand/power tools and basic assembly skills.
- Reliable and able to represent Qualified Listeners in a positive, professional manner.
- Must attend a volunteer orientation and complete necessary paperwork.
