Purpose:
Licensing & IP Oversight helps Human Biology® steward, and extend the value of its intellectual property, service mark, and health model through responsible licensing, mission-aligned partnerships, and strategic asset deployment. Ensures that the organization’s assets are put to work in ways that advance public-health impact, and long-term mission sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives
- Support the stewardship, and responsible use of IP, service mark, and program model
- Identify, evaluate, and cultivate mission-aligned licensing, implementation, and partnership opportunities
- Standardize intervention processes into scalable relationships and authorized uses
- Support asset deployment, program replication, and brand stewardship
- Help review prospective partnerships, and responsible use of the organization’s assets
- Coordinate licensing priorities, partnership structures, and implementation strategies
- Support documentation, communication, and internal licensing and partnership initiatives
- Help strengthen the organization’s ability to generate compliant, mission-supporting value from IP
Length of term: Two years
Time Commitment: As required to accomplish major duties
Reporting: The Licensing & IP Oversight reports to the Board Chair and to the Board of Trustees
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives
- Intangible asset management.
- Understanding of partnerships, licensing, brand stewardship, and commercialization.
- Ability to think strategically about how IP can be deployed for mission impact with a commitment to advancing preventive health, public-health innovation.
- Preferred Background: Licensing, mission-driven scaling and partnerships, IP revenue strategy and stewardship.
