Volunteer Graphic/Canva Designer

We are looking for a Volunteer Graphic/Canva Designer to join our team.

Techrity is a non-profit that aims to bridge the gap in unemployment, gender inclusion and poverty by providing the vital resources needed to kickstart young talents into tech and build solutions for SDGs in Africa. We achieve this by providing vital resources such as laptops, browsing data, mentorship support, and inspiring innovators and builders through our Build4SocialGood hackathon and incubation program.

Responsibilities

• Study design briefs and determine requirements for Techrity design team.
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas for Techrity design team.
• Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using softwares
• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
• Work independently and collaborate with design team members to produce final designs for Techrity's projects and social media posts.
• Test graphics across various media
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Requirements and skills

• Proven graphic designing experience
• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as Canva, illustrator,Photoshop)
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
