    Organizational Summary

    Orange County Queer Collective, OCQC, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate community for LGBTQ+ residents of Orange County, NY and their allies through gatherings that prioritize collective visual, literary, and performance art. We unabashedly celebrate trans and queer joy, embrace our beautiful diversity, and provide a space for folks to experience solidarity and the freedom of authenticity.

    Position Summary

    The Treasurer is a Board member responsible for stewarding OCQC’s resources. The Treasurer ensures records are maintained, prepares financial reports, potentially works with external auditors, and helps to keep the board informed of financial matters. 2025 is the first year that OCQC will file tax returns, with both revenue and assets currently and expected to be below $50,000 for the next three years.

    Additional Responsibilities of Board Treasurer

    • Attend quarterly Board meetings
    • Ensure that assets are protected and invested
    • Ensure the organization is in full compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, including GAAP and specific IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) entities.
    • Track and manage restricted and unrestricted funds.
    • Offer mentorship and guidance to the Board on best financial practices.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven team culture.
