Meals on Wheels Drivers - Merrimack Valley Area

PositionOverview:The Volunteer Meals on Wheels Driver transports prepared meals to homebound older adults and people with disabilities throughout the Merrimack Valley and North Shore. The volunteer position involves picking up meals at a central location and delivering them along a pre-determined route directly to the homes of several older adults in your area. Once you’re done, you return the delivery packaging items and youcan get back to your regular day knowing you’ve made a positive impact!

Requirements:

Must be 18 or older.

Complete a volunteer application & CORI background check.

Musthavepersonal reliable transportation, currentdriver’slicense and musthaveautomobileinsurancewithaminimumliabilitycoverageof$20,000/$40,000.

Requiresliftingandcarryingupto50pounds,getting in and out of a vehicle up to 30 times per day, bending, reaching, twisting, walking, and climbing multiple flights of stairs at residences that do not have elevators.

Requires driving in four season weather conditions.

Abletoread,write,understand,andinterpretbasicEnglish.

Location: We have openings available in various cities/towns throughout the North Shore and Merrimack Valley.

Time Commitment: We can set up a volunteer schedule that works with yours. The program runs Monday- Friday.Volunteers can deliver 1-5 days a week. Typically, shifts are about 3 hours per day, in the mornings from approx. 9am-12:00pm.
