GiGi’s Playhouse Indianapolis
Volunteer Leadership Role
GiGi’s Playhouse Indianapolis is seeking committed and community-centered leaders to join our Board of Managers. This is an opportunity to help guide a mission that empowers individuals with Down syndrome through free educational, therapeutic, and career-development programs for families across central Indiana.
We are expanding our board with leaders who bring heart, strategy, and a desire to change the world for our families.
About the Role
Board Members provide strategic leadership, governance oversight, relationship building, and community advocacy. Members work closely with the Executive Director and staff to support sustainability, growth, and excellence in programming.
Core Responsibilities
Board Members commit to serving the mission through meaningful and active participation. Responsibilities include:
• Sitting on at least one committee such as Development, Programs, Finance, Gala, Community Partnerships, or Marketing
• Fulfilling the annual Give Get requirement of two thousand dollars through a combination of personal giving, in-kind support, or cultivated contributions
• Stewarding one significant relationship for the Playhouse such as a major donor, corporate partner, foundation, community leader, key volunteer, or family
• Supporting the annual Gala and other major events
• Serving as an ambassador for GiGi’s Playhouse in the community
• Providing strategic insight and helping guide long-term organizational growth
Qualifications
We welcome applicants who bring any of the following:
• Strong relationship building skills and community or corporate connections
• A commitment to inclusion and empowerment for individuals with Down syndrome
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative leadership approach
• The ability to think strategically and support mission-driven growth
Previous board experience is not required. Training will be provided.
Time Commitment
• One committee meeting each month
• Stewardship check-ins with your assigned major relationship
• Attendance at the annual Gala and key Playhouse events
Average time commitment is four to six hours per month.
