    All work is outdoors - dress appropriately for weather conditions in clothes you don't mind getting dirty & closed toe shoes. We provide tools & gloves or you may bring your own.

    Description

    Garden Volunteer

    Do you enjoy being outdoors? Want to learn about plants, gardening or wildlife, or share skills you already possess? Our garden volunteers assist the Arboretum's horticulture staff with day to day tasks such as planting, weeding, mulching, watering, leaf raking, trail maintenance, plant sales, event set-up and tear-down.

    Have a particular interest? Become a Forest Steward; or focus on a particular garden of area such as the Herb Garden, Shale Barren or the Monarch Waystation. Or tell us about your skills & interests and we'll try to find a place for you.

    Opportunities for larger groups also available - contact us to schedule a workday for your club or organization.

    2 shifts available:

    • Morning shifts available Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri. Two hour minimum shift - volunteers may stay longer. Up to 4 vols per shift.: 09:30 to 11:30 EST
    • Afternoon shifts available Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri. Two hour minimum shift - volunteers may stay longer. Up to 4 vols per shift.: 13:00 to 15:00 EST
