    Description

Boomers Collaborative Foundation is an Austin-based nonprofit advancing a mixed-use, shared-equity housing model that helps older adults age in place together with dignity, stability, and mutual support. We are moving from founder-led development into broader board and volunteer leadership, and we are seeking committed volunteers who want to help build the systems, relationships, and community engagement needed to bring this model forward.

We are looking for people who care about this work and are willing to learn with us. Relevant experience is helpful, but passion, steadiness, and follow-through matter deeply.

    Description:

Boomers Collaborative Foundation seeks a volunteer Board Secretary to help maintain clear governance records as we advance a mixed-use, shared-equity housing model for older adults.

This is a working-board role for someone who is organized, careful with details, and comfortable helping a small nonprofit keep accurate records of board decisions, minutes, and governance actions. The Secretary plays an important role in organizational continuity as Boomers Collaborative moves from founder-led development into broader board and volunteer leadership.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Prepare or oversee preparation of board meeting minutes
    • Maintain board records and approved actions
    • Help track governance documents, board rosters, and formal approvals
    • Support meeting documentation and certification of minutes
    • Help ensure board decisions are clearly recorded and easy to locate
    • Coordinate with the President and committee leads on agenda-related documentation

    Helpful experience:

    • Board service, nonprofit administration, governance, legal support, executive support, or records management
    • Strong writing and organizational skills
    • Comfort with Google Docs and shared-drive systems
    • Attention to accuracy and follow-through
    • Interest in affordable housing, aging, cooperatives, or community-based nonprofit work

    Time commitment:

Approximately 3–6 hours per month, with most work tied to monthly board meetings.

    Location:

Austin-area preferred. Most meetings are virtual.

Final Board and committee assignments are subject to Boomers Collaborative Foundation’s review and approval process.
