    Description

Love reading? Want to make a real difference in someone’s life?

The Adult Literacy Center at the Camarillo Public Library is looking for volunteer tutors to help adults build their reading, writing, and speaking skills. No experience needed, we’ll train you. All you need is a love of reading, a desire to help, and a commitment of at least 6 months.

Tutors meet one-on-one with learners at the library for about one hour a week. It’s a small time commitment that can make a big impact.

We use ProLiteracy for training. It’s self-paced and takes about 12 hours to complete.

Tutors must be at least 18 years old and will need to pass a background check after being matched with a learner.
