Urgent! Volunteer Drivers/Navigators & Meal Packers Needed: Deliver Thanksgiving Dinner to Seniors (Metro Atlanta, 6 Counties)
Details
Description
Mission:
Help Global Blessing ensure that no senior in the Atlanta Metro area feels isolated or goes hungry this Thanksgiving. We are executing our Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway, a crucial, single-day operation to deliver free holiday dinner packages directly to seniors' doorsteps across six counties.
We need organized, reliable Volunteer Driver Teams (Driver + Navigator) to execute our pre-planned routes. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role essential to the success of the entire program. Your commitment of just one day will bring dignity, nourishment, and connection to vulnerable seniors this holiday season.
The Role:
As a Delivery Team Volunteer, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering pre-packaged holiday meals or grocery kits. We offer two package types (Premade Meal vs. Raw Groceries), and you will ensure the correct package gets to the correct recipient in the shortest time possible. A Gas Stipend will be provided!
Key Responsibilities (Driver and Navigator)
- Timely Execution: Commit to being at the central hub on Tuesday, November 24th, for loadout by 9:30 AM to ensure all deliveries are completed between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Safe Delivery: Navigate and execute a pre-assigned, GPS-optimized route within one of the six designated counties (Cobb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Fulton, Dekalb, or Gwinnett).
- Package Integrity: Safely transport insulated containers containing premade meals or grocery kits, ensuring food safety and package integrity.
- Client Experience (Navigator): Conduct the brief Delivery Confirmation Protocol at each door, ensuring a quick, courteous, and dignified handoff to the senior recipient.
- Reporting: Check in with your designated County Lead upon route completion.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Vehicle: Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle large enough to hold several delivery containers (car or small SUV is usually sufficient). A stipend for gas will be provided.
- Documentation: Must possess a valid Driver's License and current vehicle insurance.
- Teamwork: Volunteers are strongly encouraged to sign up with a partner (Navigator) to manage routing and on-site communication efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to safely lift and carry packages weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Compliance: Must sign the Volunteer Confidentiality & Legal Compliance Form prior to deployment, committing to strict data privacy and our No Home Entry policy for senior safety.
- Availability: Must commit to the full deployment schedule on Tuesday, November 24, 2025.
