    Description

Volunteer with Legally Resettled Refugees in San Antonio

Help Refugee Families Build New Lives in San Antonio

The Center for Refugee Services (CRS) is seeking compassionate, dependable volunteers to help refugees and their families become self-sufficient and successfully integrated into our community. Since 2010, we have been a volunteer-powered organization, assisting hundreds of families every month in the areas of health and wellness, employment and education. We provide direct service to clients, many of whom live close to our office in the Medical Center

    Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers can assist in a variety of programs, including:

    • Teaching or assisting with adult English (ESL) classes
    • Helping clients complete employment applications and résumés
    • Supporting our maternity and baby program
    • Assisting in our food pantry
    • Greeting and assisting clients at the front desk
    • Organizing donations and administrative projects

For volunteers interested in a larger commitment, CRS provides training to become a certified Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Community Partner Navigator, helping eligible clients apply for SNAP, Medicaid, and other public benefits.

    ESL Volunteers Needed

We are especially seeking volunteers to assist with our English classes:

    Women's ESL: Monday–Thursday, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

    Men's ESL: Monday & Wednesday, 5:00–6:30 p.m.

Teaching experience is helpful but not required for many classroom support roles.
