Board Member – Nonprofit Educational Media Organization

Accelerator Media is seeking Portland-area board members who want to help shape the next chapter of a growing nonprofit media organization.

Accelerator Media is a founder-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit media organization that creates educational content designed to ignite curiosity and encourage long-term thinking about the future of humanity. Our current work includes podcasts, video content, and the development of Insectopia Explorer, a biodiversity education app that connects to an animated series also in development.

We currently operate with an international board that meets quarterly. As we continue growing, we are shifting more of our board-building efforts toward the Portland area so we can deepen our local roots, meet in person, and build outward from a strong community foundation.

Our goal is to cultivate a high-performing board that actively advances the organization’s mission and supports long-term growth. We are looking for aligned strategic partners who understand that strong board service goes beyond attending quarterly meetings. Ideal board members are willing to contribute through leadership, advocacy, relationship-building, strategic guidance, and active support of the organization’s growth.

Board members should be able to attend quarterly meetings in the Portland area and be genuinely interested in helping Accelerator Media grow from a lean, volunteer-driven organization into a sustainable nonprofit media platform with a broader public impact.
