Description
Washington Metro Oasis is looking for a volunteer to facilitate our Bonjour! French Conversation Group. This group offers adults age 50+ the chance to refresh their French, gain speaking confidence, and connect with others in a welcoming setting.
As facilitator, you’ll:
- Create a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
- Guide the flow of conversation and encourage everyone to participate.
- Offer topics or prompts to spark discussion.
- Help keep the group on track and speaking en français.
The facilitator should be comfortable carrying on everyday conversations in French without much difficulty. You don’t need to be a teacher or perfectly fluent, but you should be able to speak naturally, introduce topics, and keep the discussion flowing. If you can chat easily on the phone, follow the news, or tell a story in French, your skills are likely strong enough.
