    Description

Chapter/Club Founder - Young Advocates for Rare Diseases

Young Advocates for Rare Diseases (YARD) is an organization that equips the youth to help children with rare diseases feel supported and appreciated. We help others learn the importance of acceptance and antidiscrimination for rare disease individuals in their own communities through four core pillars: leadership, advocacy, impact, and research. Through these foundational pillars, we help conquer the challenges children with rare diseases face, such as social isolation and lack of research funding, by raising awareness to the public.

As a chapter/club founder, you will lead a group of people to host rare disease discussions and campaigns, kindness and patient support (letters, kits, hand-crafted gifts, etc.), fundraising and networking events, and research projects within your school or in your local neighborhood. The position is recommended for students in high school or older.
